Environment & Technology

Summary

The ‘Taking Note’ museum responds to the ongoing government plan to eradicate informal settlements, and by association their culture.

The museum will create global awareness and resolve a lack of representation. Amplifying the presence and voice of the informal community will make its silencing an inconceivable act.

Environment and Technology ambitions explore the realisation of the next stage in museum  evolution - ‘Museum Community’

The detailed design of a neighbourhood scale project will preserve and celebrate an accurate portrayal of the current culture, something not presently done in Egypt’s museums.

To prevent the essence and memory of the informal from being corrupted over time ‘Taking Note’ merges social and educational typologies and will use tectonic design to support the internal agenda.
